NUAA and KU-Leuven successfully hold a Global Strategic Partnership Annual Meeting

On December 18, 2020, the Global Strategic Partnership annual meeting was successfully held between NUAA and KU-Leuven. From KU-Leuven, the meeting was attended by Prof. Bert Lauwers, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Technology; Prof. Dominiek Reynaerts, Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department attended this meeting online; Dr. Jun Qian, Senior Researcher of Engineering and Technology Department; Prof. Koen Eneman, Vice Dean for international affairs of the Faculty of Engineering Technology; Mrs. Hilde Lauwereys, Liaison for international affairs of the Faculty of Engineering Technology; Mr. Wim Polet, Director for international affairs of the Faculty of Engineering Technology. From NUAA, the meeting was attended by 10 members, including Prof. ZHANG Zhuo, Director of International Cooperation Office; Prof. GuoYu, Vice Dean of College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering; Prof. HE Ning, Professor of College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering; Dr. ZHAO Guolong, Asso. Professor of College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering; Mr. TIAN Lifeng, Section Chief of International Cooperation Office etc.

Prof. Zhang Zhuo firstly introduced NUAA Global Strategic Partnership plan (GSP plan), aiming to promote all-round and multi-level cooperation between NUAA and world-renowned higher education institutions. He hopes that based on the comprehensive cooperation framework memorandum signed by NUAA and KU-Leuven and the executed exchange agreement, NUAA and KU-Leuven are able to further strengthen the long-term win-win strategic partnership, meanwhile, improve the depth and breadth of talent training, academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation between the two sides. Prof. Bert Lauwers introduced the general information and exciting international cooperation programs in KU-Leuven, hoping to conduct a wholesome and excellent cooperation program with NUAA.

After discussion, both sides have agreed to carry out the double bachelor degree education cooperation program with the major - Mechanical Engineering from 2021. On this basis of this program, NUAA and KU-Leuven will continue to expand cooperation disciplines, levels and modes, and deepen strategic cooperation in the future.

NUAA and KU-Leuven hope that after the end of the epidemic in 2021, the two sides will continue the student exchanges, teacher visits and academic seminars. This time, the annual (video) meeting on Global Strategic Partnership has strengthened the collaboration between NUAA and the KU-Leuven, reaching the expected goals and achieving a complete success.
